Why Long Distance Relationships With Women You Just Meet Don’t Work

By Teddy Shabba Have you ever met a woman while you where out of town spent a couple of days together had a great time, then decided that she was someone with whom you had to keep in touch with because the chemistry you two had was like no other? So you exchange contact information and then flew back home and she went back to her home some 3000 miles away from you. You get home and a couple of days later give her a call and discover that the chemistry you had when you where together is not nearly as strong as what you feeling on the phone. Perhaps after a couple of weeks of talking on the phone you decide to fly up and see her and again the connection seems to just be getting stronger and stronger. Overcome by emotions and joy you decide that you no longer want to see anybody else and ask her if she feels the same. She agrees and now you have become a long distance couple. Congratulations! You have just completely destroyed your long distance fling and now get to enjoy the misery of a long distance relationship until the stench of the dead fling becomes too unbearable. What you had first experienced in the fling was great and if you had left it at that you would’ve been able to enjoy perhaps years of this occasional fling. A long distance fling works for two reasons: 1. There is no commitment 2. No Expectations If you both happen to have some free time or you are in town you meet up have a great time and afterwards go your own separate ways. The phone calls start to become less and less even though every time you call or meet you pick up right where you left off. Now what happens when you turn a fling into the long distance relationship is: 1. It becomes a commitment 2. Expectations become great Before you would meet her when you meet her, now you have to meet because we all know as a man you can only go so long without sex. Also before when you went out you might not have the urge to sleep with someone else and you still would have fun. Now in the long distance relationship you have to be careful when you go out because you might get the urge and you have less fun when going out if you even do go out. As a fling there was no power struggle as to who was going to move to be with the other, yet once in a relationship his power struggle will begin because you both know that long distance relationships cant last forever. In a nutshell when you meet the woman of your dreams three thousand miles away simply except it for what it is a fling and if she happens to move closer or your job relocates you closer to her hen you can begin to explore relationships options. Trying a long distance relationship with someone you just met is a waste of your time, and in the long run all that is going to happen is you missed out on all the other women who lived closer to you and potentially could have made you forget about her. Herbs an Illuminating History – from a South African Perspective

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Andrew_Smit] Andrew Smit The practise of herb-gardening can be traced as far back as 4000 years ago in Egypt. Herb growing was often associated with temples, which required herbs for daily worship and ritual. Queen Hatshepsut (d. 1482BC imported frankincense (Boswellia sacra) and myrrh ( Commiphora myrrha) from Arabia, and cornflowers ( Centaurea cyanus), poppies (Papaver spp), mandrakes (Mandragora spp), figs (Ficus spp), and lotuses (Nymphaea lotus) appear in many wall paintings. From as early as 305AD herb-gardening was second only to prayer in the monastic regime. Monasteries were largely self-sufficient in produce, placing special emphasis on herbs to heal the sick. Herbs were also used to flavor a vegetarian diet as well as the brewing and distillation of ale, wine and liqueurs such as Benedictine, and the cosmetic Carmelite water which was based on Melissa officinalis. In the 16th century, herb gardens were planted by the universities for the purpose of teaching botany and medicine, subjects that were inextricably linked until separated by advances in science during the 18th century. Physic gardens as they were commonly known were to be found at many universities throughout Europe. Herbs were planted in alphabetical order and as new species were brought back by colonial explorers and botanical knowledge expanded, physic gardens housed a far greater range of plants and became the botanic gardens we know today. Even though herbs have their roots in centuries gone by they are not a thing of the past. Thanks to the hippies of the 1960′s and 1970′s herbs have made a serious come back in the last decade. Approximately 80 percent of the worlds population rely on traditional plant based medicine, and 25 percent of prescription drugs contain plant extract. The USA’s interest in medicinal herbs has increased by 100 percent since 1995 and similar increases have been seen in other countries across the globe. A resurgence of interest has meant that consumers are finding herbs in the food industry, dietary supplements, teas, skin and hair-care products and aromatics. Culinary herbs have exploded into every kitchen thanks to the likes of Jamie Oliver and other TV cookery chefs. The lives of people and herbs are so closely linked that we often forget the power they posses. The Swiss physician and alchemist Paracelus (c.1493-1541) wrote that ” All substances are poisons; there is none which is not poison. The right dose differentiates a poison and a remedy.” Plants like Opium Poppy (Papver somniferum) and Coca (Erythroxylum coca) have been the cause of many wars throughout history. Life saving plants like Quinine (Cinchona Species) have prevented and treated malaria since the era of colonial expansion. Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) provided the basis for acetylsalicylic acid produced in 1899, and was named aspirin after (Spirea ulmaria) which was the old name for (Filipendula ulmaria). Aspirin is the world’s most widely used drug. People all over the world have picked, uprooted and used herbs since ancient times. Of the 250,000 species of flowering plants in the world, more than 20,000 are recorded as herbs, and in these numbers lies our greatest hope of finding new drugs to combat disease. Vegetable Gardening Tips – How To Sow Your Seeds

By Dale Odeyemi Getting Your seed to sprout, is only the first step in the game; they must be provided with the means of immediately beginning to grow. This means that they should not be left to germinate in loosely packed soil, full of air spaces, ready to dry out at the first opportunity, and to let the tiny seed roots be shriveled up. The soil should touch the seed – be pressed close about it on all sides, so that the first tiny tap root will issue immediately into ideal surroundings where it can instantly take hold. Such conditions can be found only in a seed-bed fine but light enough to pack, reasonably rich and sufficiently moist, and where, in addition to this, the seed has been properly planted. Try to never let the soil become crusted, even if there is not a weed in sight. Keep the soil loosened up, for that will keep your garden growing very nicely. You should sow from the end of March to the beginning of May, or when plum and peach trees bloom, the following: Beet, Cabbage, Carrot, Cauliflower Celery, Endive, Kale, Kohlrabi Lettuce, Onions, Parsley, Parsnip Peas, Radish, Spinach, Turnip Water-cress Sow from the beginning of May to the middle of June, or when apple trees bloom, the following: Beans, Corn, Cucumber, Squash (Melon, water), (Melon, musk), Pumpkin Tomato, Okra The planting depths and spacing is critical when it comes to planting your garden… Every veggie has a different depth and space needed to grow as big as possible. You will find that some like to be crowed and others need plenty of space. You want to make sure that you give them the appropriate amount of space so they all get food and water. You want to be able to get to the vegetables without walking on the plants. You also do not want to walk on the soil that you plan to use to plant. Some plants also tend to take an abundance of water and feed from the soil, so you will want to have them isolated from the other plants. Remember that a majority of your seeds will not bloom; so seeding heavy is okay when it comes to things like lettuce, where the seeds are very small. You may want to sprinkle some food on top lightly so that the seeds have a better chance of making it. However, if you have already fertilized the land, you do not need to add the food! Cervical Laminectomy Surgery

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Dheeraj_Bojwani] Dheeraj Bojwani Most neck pain is due to degenerative changes that occur in the intervertebral discs of the cervical spine and the joints between each vertebra. The vast majority of patients who have neck pain will not require any type of operation. However, in some cases degenerative changes in the cervical spine can lead to a very serious condition where there is too much pressure on the spinal cord. When this condition occurs, the entire spinal cord is in danger. One surgical option is to remove the pressure on the spinal cord by opening the spinal canal from the back to make the spinal canal larger. This procedure is called a laminectomy. The spinal cord and nerve roots in the neck are surrounded and protected by the cervical vertebrae. These bones have an opening called the spinal canal through which the spinal cord passes. Ligaments and blood vessels are also present in the spinal canal. The nerve roots start at the spinal cord and pass through an opening between the vertebrae called the intervertebral foramen (or neural foramen). From there, they extend to other parts of the body. PREPARATION FOR Cervical laminectomy SURGERY: EXAM BEFORE SURGERY Before surgery, your doctor may ask you to see your primary care physician for a general exam with blood work. If you have a chronic condition such as heart problems, diabetes, or high blood pressure, be sure to advise your doctor. We may suggest seeing a local specialist here in Tyler while you are in the hospital. TWO WEEKS BEFORE SURGERY You will need to significantly reduce the amount of pain medications, or stop altogether, as your doctor recommends, in order to enhance the effectiveness of pain medications after surgery. If, however, you are taking Oxycontin, continue to take it until the day of surgery. (Do not take it the morning of surgery.) There are a number of medications that are important to monitor before surgery. Your doctor will discuss this with you. The major medicine that needs to be discontinued includes blood thinners such as Coumadin, Heparin, and any kind of aspirin containing product or anti-inflammatory medication which is labeled as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication (NSAID). NSAIDs include aspirin, ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Daypro, and Naprosyn. These medications have been associated with an increased incidence for bleeding after surgery, and we recommend that the medication be discontinued for a period of 7 to 14 days prior to surgery. There is a new class of NSAIDS– including Vioxx and Celebrex– that may be taken until 2 days before surgery. (Stop taking these two days before your surgery date.) This will be discussed with the doctor who prescribes those medications. If you take herbs or alternative prescriptions, please advise your doctor. Some of these can cause odd interactions with common drugs. Your doctor will discuss the importance of stopping smoking. It will also be important not to smoke for at least 24 hours before surgery in preparation for anesthesia. This is important. THE NIGHT BEFORE SURGERY Eat or drink nothing after midnight – this includes food, water, coffee, chewing gum, etc. If you take a medication regularly, you may take it with a small sip of water The Operation of cervical spine laminectomy: To perform a cervical spine laminectomy, an incision is made down the center of the back of the neck. The muscles are then moved to the side. The arteries and nerves in the neck are protected as well. Once the spine is reached from the back, each vertebra is identified. Your surgeon will probably take an X-ray during surgery to make sure that the right vertebrae are being selected and the correct lamina removed. Once this is determined, the lamina of the affected vertebrae is removed. Any bone spurs that are found sticking off the back of the vertebra are removed as well. Great care is taken to not damage the spinal cord and nerve roots. In the cervical spine, removing the lamina completely may cause problems with the stability of the facet joints between each vertebra. If the joints are damaged during the laminectomy, the spine may begin to tilt forward causing problems later. One way that spine surgeons try to prevent this problem is not to actually remove the lamina. Instead, they simply cut one side of the lamina and fold it back slightly. The other side of the lamina opens like a hinge. This makes the spinal canal larger, giving the spinal cord more room. The cut area of the lamina eventually heals to keep the spine from tilting forward. Why go to India for Cervial Laminectomy? Over the years, India has become a global centre of excellence in spine surgery including the cervical Laminectomy surgery. India has achieved global recognition as a pioneer in innovative cervical Laminectomy surgery techniques to help patients who are often termed inoperable. These innovations have saved hundreds of lives across the globe. Besides the Best Spine Surgery Hospitals available in India what attracts thousands of patients is the wide variety of tourist options available that they can visit during their recuperation from the surgery. India has a rich and unique cultural heritage, and has actively preserved its established traditions throughout history. The Taj Mahal in Agra is India’s most popular tourist destination. You can visit all these places and just pay a quarter of the amount of what you would pay for the getting the surgery in USA. Marketing for Therapists – Knowing Your Most Important Marketing Resource

By Steven Harold Do you know the one marketing resource that can always attract and persuade new contacts and old familiar faces to become customers? Do you know the one marketing resource your business has that can attract customers in droves or send them running for the hill? Have you guessed yet? One more clue then… This marketing resource doesn’t cost you a penny! Give up ? Okay… the Number 1 Marketing Resource that your business has is…. wait for it… it’s YOU! Yep… it really is you. Sometimes the most obvious aspect of some thing is the one thing we over look. You really are your therapy practice’s, your business’s, number one marketing asset. Because you have the power to live, breathe and enthuse what you do. Every person you come into contact with are likely to be one of two people. They are someone who :- 1) Needs the help of your business or 2) They will know someone who could use the help of your business So either they are a customer in waiting or they know someone who is a customer in waiting. And there’s more…. if they fall into category number 1) then the will also fall into category number 2) as well. So, every contact you get, new or old, is a potential customer or has a network of potential customers. This means that you really are your numebr one marketing asset. For it is how you interact with these contacts that, as I have said before, have customers and clients coming in droves or running for the hills. Your interaction, your conversation, dress, attitude, creativity, your people skills and more, can add or subtract from the opportunities you will have every day of attracting new customers and clients. If you haven’t done so before, now is the time to assess how you have been with previous encounters. Ask yourself questions like :- 1) Did I present well enough? 2) What did I say about my business and service? 3) What could I do to improve on what I say and how I present myself? 4) What has worked well for me in the past? 5) Do I listen well or am I just into my stuff? 6) What else do I need to consider or change? There is always room for improvement in anything we do. Even with some small changes you have the potential to double or triple the customers you can attract through your daily interactions. And, if you haven’t already guessed… the point of this article is to say that whether you are interacting with people during your business day or whether you are socialising or enjoying the service of another business provider, all of these times are priceless opportunities for getting more customers and more clients. Barbie Dolls

By Johnathan Sanders I am interested in creating sites on topics related primarily to young children. My first venture, is a site dedicated to dolls and doll houses. Whilst carrying out reaseach for this site, I was blown away by the amount of information there was to be gained by studying Barbie and other dolls. The whole world over, Barbie is the doll that every girls just got to have. Why? Well, over the years, Barbie has managed to stay in tune with her owners, in dress, physical appearance and at the same time maintain her unique sweetness that has captured the hearts of generations of young girls. The picture to the left is of the first every Barbie (notice the distinctive outfit). If you are lucky to own one of these original dolls, you are setting on a potential fortune! Today, there are many different type of Barbie dolls available and there are collectors clubs all over the world. This is a far cry from the relatively humble beginnings at the 1956 toy fair. Would Ruth Handler, Barbie’s creator every thought her creation would one day be part of American day to day life as it is today? Barbie was invented by Ruth Handler in 1950. At the time, most of the dolls available were targeted at the adult market and were generally made of cloth or paper. For a full history of Barbie, please click here. Barbie was named after Barbara Handler, the daughter of the creators Ruth and Elliot Handler. They also had a son called Ken – sound familiar! Did you know, Barbie dolls sell at a rate of 2 every second! The most successful Barbie doll ever created was Totally Hair Barbie, introduced in 1992. With hair from the top of her head to her toes, Totally Hair Barbie sold more than 10 million. Barbie actually ran for the Presidency. The issues Barbie campaigned on included equality, world peace, animal kindness, education, and the environment- things which all leaders openly support. Please take a look at my collection of beautiful Barbie pictures. Some of these dolls are over 30 years old! I have also added loads of links at the bottom of my page, for further info and pictures. Virginia Workers Compensation Denied: The Important Questions

By Jerry Lutkenhaus If your comp claim was denied for Virginia Worker’s Compensation, then as an injured worker there are some questions you need to ask about the denial of your claim. The insurance company letter will typically say your work place injury & accident is “not compensable” under the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Act. You need to ask yourself the following questions: 1. Did you injure yourself in a specific accident or was it a gradually occurring problem (such as tendinitis)? 2. Did you report it to a supervisor immediately and was an Accident Report filled out the day of the accident or at least within two to three days after the accident? 3. Did you immediately go to a doctor or an emergency room that day or at least the following day? 4. If you slipped and fell at work, do you know what caused the fall such as water on the floor, a slippery carpet, etc.? 5. Was there a witness who can confirm your accident and is he or she willing to come forward? 6. Were you under the influence of any drug such as marijuana, cocaine or alcohol at the time of your accident (Many employers will give an injured employee a drug test)? 7. Were you doing a work activity at the time of the accident or were you on a personal mission or errand? 8. Were you the victim of horseplay by a fellow employee? 9. Were you the victim of a personal assault by a fellow employee or someone else who was a stranger to the employment? 10. Did your injury occur as a result of an ordinary activity such as bending, stooping, reaching, etc.? 11. Did you injury occur as the result of a fight with a co-worker or your boss? 12. If you fell on a stairs, did you slip as the result of poor lighting, water on the stairs, other substance on the stairs, bad carpet, etc. If your denial involves any of the above circumstances, then you should not talk to the insurance company but rather you should talk immediately to an attorney who specializes in Virginia Workers Compensation. You can check my article, “How to Choose the Best Virginia Workers Compensation Attorney.” Knowledge of your problem is your best weapon. Copyright 2006, Jerry Lutkenhaus. Radio Ads That Get Results

By Lisa Packer Radio advertising can be a small business’s best friend. It’s relatively inexpensive, very effective, and allows you to target your audience pretty specifically. It’s also a level playing field — your commercials can sound just as good as those of a corporate giant. But not all radio ads are created equal. Too often, they’re wasted on “name recognition” spots that have to be run over and over, only hoping to produce a positive impression in the audience’s mind. Eventually they promise you more business, but nothing you can trace. There is a better way. When done right, radio can be one of the most potent weapons in your marketing arsenal. Here’s how: 1. Never let the radio station write your ads. They’re usually very nice people, and good at the job of selling radio advertising. But they’re generally not trained writers. At best, you’ll get a decent ad that sounds like everything else on their station. At worst, you’ll get a lousy ad. If you’re going to do radio, do it right and hire a professional copywriter. 2. Tell a story. Radio is powerful because it is an intimate medium. It’s often listened to when someone is alone, such as when driving to work. It can easily arouse the emotion that leads to sales, and the best way to do that is by telling a story. Create a humorous conflict that is solved by your product or service and have it acted out. Story-based commercials get consistently better results than traditional announcer-based ones. 3. Stick to one idea. 30 — or even 60 — seconds is not a lot of time. Spend all of it on one idea or benefit. Any more than that just confuses your audience. 4. Give a clear call to action. You won’t get results if you don’t ask for them. Tell your listeners what it is you want them to do, whether it is visit your store, call you or visit your web site. Whatever else you do, don’t leave this step out. If you don’t ask your audience to do anything, they won’t. These ideas can not only super-charge your radio ads, it’s possible they will save you money as well. Because a well-written ad will generate more response without having to be run as much. Try it and see! Does your marketing forge an emotional connection with your prospects? It can. Lisa Packer, author of “The Power Of Emotion: 6 Triggers That Turn Prospects Into Customers,” specializes in copy that does just that. California Business Entities – How Long Does It Take To Get Approved?

By Richard Chapo Youve done your research and have decided on a business entity. Youre chomping at the bit to open a bank account and get moving. You file your corporation or LLC with the Secretary of State and waitand waitand wait. Just how long is this going to take? California Filing Times The California Secretary of State can be very slow when it comes to approving new business entities. Once you file the entity, you can sit around tapping your fingers for as long as two months. After two months, you may not even remember why you filed the darn thing! Can you avoid this time and momentum killer? YES! The California Secretary of State offers rush filing options for forming business entities. The first is a 24 hour rush that ads $500 to the filing process, an expense that should really only be undertaken if you are desperate. The second option runs a whopping $15 and has a turn around time of 7 to 10 business days. Ah, so this is the way to do it, right? Nah, that would be far too easy! For rush filings, the Secretary of State requires all filings to be made in person. If you are not located in Sacramento, this can cause a major problem. So, what do you do? If you are creating a corporation, you can file the articles of incorporation at a branch office of the Secretary of State. Most major cities have a branch, but you can pop on to the web site for the Secretary of State and find your local branch. If you are forming an LLC, California makes things difficult. For no logical reason, the Secretary of State doesnt allow LLC filings to be made at branch offices. This policy makes absolutely no sense, but what are you going to do? You are going to beat the state at its own game. Rush LLC filings must be personally filed in the Sacramento office of the Secretary of State. The policy doesnt say WHO must personally file it. Using this loophole, you can hire an attorney delivery service in Sacramento to file and pick up the Articles of Organization for your LLC. You simply send them the articles as well as the filing and rush filing fees. You can expect to pay the attorney service an additional $50 to $75 for the service. California is one of the worst states to do business in. The Secretary of State does everything possible to make filings a pain in the With this information, you can turn the tables and beat them at their own game.
